Home for the Holidays...

I spent Christmas at home in Groton, MA. Mom and I got to do a lot of cooking and I spent plenty of time relaxing around the multiple fireplaces and the wood cook stove. Photos shot with my new Nikon D3s.

My mom has had this rocker knife as long as I can remember. As a kid I thought it was just the coolest thing.

Mom making muffins!

Muffins and strawberries for Christmas breakfast.

Butternut squash soup with roasted chestnuts. Finished with a drizzle of cream and sherry!

And lastly, an iphone snapshot...

Samurai Mama - Tavern and Udon Noodle Bar

Last week Samurai Mama on Grand St. in Williamsburg had me in to shoot some food and interior photos. The menu is truly authentic, all the Udon is made in-house and a family style, warm atmosphere completes the dining experience. More to come but here are a few of the images - click the first one for slideshow format.

Foraged wild chantrelle mushrooms for a tempura special.

Nikujil kake Udon, pork belly and scallion.

Heritage Meats

I visited Heritage Meats at Essex Street Market to get some nice looking - and tasting - meat. Shana helped me pick out a great variety. Click the first image to view as a slideshow.

And then to the frying pan....

17 Mile Drive and Big Sur

I just got back from my annual fall visit to northern California. This time my friend Rachel and I started in San Francisco then drove to Sonoma and then down the PCH to Santa Monica. Here are a few shots from the drive. Click the first photo for slideshow viewing.

This point was called the "Lone Cypress" I believe.

Near Pebble Beach.

Big Sur through the fog. Before I got carsick.

The underground pool at Hearst Castle.

The Getty Center, Los Angelas

While in L.A. recently I visited the Getty Center. The architecture was simple stunning and a cloudless blue sky was the perfect backdrop. Click on one of the images for slideshow viewing.

Apples and Pie

'Tis the season...for apple picking and pie! Outtakes from a recent shoot. I was originally planning on shooting the pie but the apples ended up stealing the show. I loved how elegantly the leaves curled as they dried.

Island Creek Oyster Festival 2011

Last weekend I traveled out to Duxbury, MA to shoot Island Creek Oysters annual festival. Chefs from Boston, New York City and Rhode Island set up shop and offered tastes of their culinary creations, Narraganset beer was flowing and of course, lot and lots of oysters were shucked. It was truly a grand ol' time.

Fruit from the McCarren park farmer's market that I visit every Saturday morning. Which shot do you like best?
