Jasmine Tea Flowers

A friend brought these beautiful jasmine tea flowers back from China for me. When submerged in hot water they open into a delicate floating anemone. Click on an image for a larger view.

Citrus Season!

Citrus season is upon us! Recently I stopped by the Local New York day at Eataly and fell in love with the bright meyer lemons, different kinds of oranges, buddah's hands and kumquats.

Home for the Holidays...

I spent Christmas at home in Groton, MA. Mom and I got to do a lot of cooking and I spent plenty of time relaxing around the multiple fireplaces and the wood cook stove. Photos shot with my new Nikon D3s.

My mom has had this rocker knife as long as I can remember. As a kid I thought it was just the coolest thing.

Mom making muffins!

Muffins and strawberries for Christmas breakfast.

Butternut squash soup with roasted chestnuts. Finished with a drizzle of cream and sherry!

And lastly, an iphone snapshot...

Last week Samurai Mama on Grand St. in Williamsburg had me in to shoot some food and interior photos. The menu is truly authentic, all the Udon is made in-house and a family style, warm atmosphere completes the dining experience. More to come but here are a few of the images - click the first one for slideshow format.

Foraged wild chantrelle mushrooms for a tempura special.

Heritage Meats

I visited Heritage Meats at Essex Street Market to get some nice looking - and tasting - meat. Shana helped me pick out a great variety. Click the first image to view as a slideshow.

And then to the frying pan....
